PHOTOS: Protesters Occupy Medfield Over Halloween Postponement

Blake Middle School and Ralph Wheelock School students Occupy Medfield's Town Hall, protesting the town's decision Monday to postpone trick-or-treating until Friday.

"We want Halloween now."

That was the message three Medfield kids sent to passersby in front of on Main Street Monday afternoon in protest of the town's decision to postpone Halloween and trick-or-treating until Friday, Nov. 4.

"Halloween is on Oct. 31," said Kyle Infantino, a student. "We want Halloween now."

The decision by Medfield town officials to postpone Halloween's trick-or-treating to Friday has not been a favorable one to many in town. According to data compiled by Medfield Patch's non-scientific poll: "," 51 percent of 147 voters say the decision is "an overreaction by the town. Let parents decide what's safe for their children." Twenty-seven percent of voters are satisfied with the town's decision.

Monday's protest featured three Medfield students standing outside of Town Hall just after 2 p.m. The trio was seen holding signs and voicing their desires to have Halloween on Oct. 31.

Blake Middle School students Jack Nedell and Infantino, along with and younger brother, Liam Nedell said they didn't want to wait until Friday to celebrate Halloween and decided it would be a good idea to stand in the center of town and let their thoughts be known.

Whenever they do get a chance to dress up and celebrate, Jack plans to be a "lamp," Kyle will be a "tree" and Liam will be a "bald vampire."
