Grab & Go Kids Planner: Storytime

Family festivals, special storytimes and yodeling are on the agenda for this weekend.

Check out these local family friendly activities for the weekend:

  • The Charles River School in Dover will hold their 60th Annual Fall Fair on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair will bring fun for the whole family. Activities will include rides, games, arts and crafts, pony rides, hayrides, a cakewalk, JELL-O eating contest, face painting, baked goods, a yard sale and much more. Admission is free.
  • What adventures can take place if you give a dog a donut? Find out during a special children's storytime at the Barnes and Noble in the Walpole Mall on Saturday at 11 a.m. This free storytime event will feature the book "If You Give a Dog a Donut" by Laura Numeroff, a tale told through many colorful pictures sure to delight your child. Admission is free.
  • Clapboardtree Nursery School in Westwood will hold their annual "PumpkinFest" on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Parish Meeting Hall, 340 Clapboardtree St, Westwood. This fun-filled day will include pony rides, moonwalks, games, prizes, crafts, a silent auction, a bake sale, lunch, and more!   • The Center For Arts in Natick presents a rare appearance by two-time Grammy winners Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer on Saturday at 2 p.m.  Cathy and Marcy will  sing, yodel & scat sing while playing electric and acoustic guitars, banjos, mandolin, ukulele and more. Their family show will entertain all with music, comedy and audience participation. Admission: $12 adults; $10 children. More information can be found here.
  • Laurie Isop, children's author of "How Do You Hug a Porcupine?" will visit in Medfield on Sunday at 2 p.m. Laurie, winner of the Cheerios New Author Contest, will read from her new book. Admission is free.
