Grab & Go Kids Planner: March 3-4

Wildlife, Platypus Day and Purim are on the agenda for this weekend.

  • Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk will hold a Turtle Trekkers Program, Sat., March 3 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Join a Stony Brook teacher on the trails and learn about nature. This fun event will also include crafts, activities and lots of laughter. This month's theme: Blowing in the Wind.  This program is suited for children 2 years and 9 months old to 6 years old with a parent. Pre-registration is required for all programs. Stony Brook is located at 108 North St. in Norfolk. Admission is $10 for member and $12 for non-members per adult/child pair.
  • will hold a Mother/Daughter Book Club on Sat., March 3 from 3pm - 4pm in the meeting room. This new book club is open to girls in grades 4-6.  This month's book will be "The Higher Power of Lucky" by Susan Patron.  Copies of the book are available in the Children's room.   •  in Norwood, invites families to discover the magic of Purim, the celebration of Jewish deliverance as told in the Book of Esther, on Sun. March 4 at 10:00 a.m.  This event will feature astonishing illusions by Matt Roberts of the PBS series Ribert and Robert’s WonderWorld to be followed by the opportunity to make Purim mishloach manot (holiday baskets) and eat hamantaschen (cookies).  This event is geared with families with children ages 2-6. The Kehillah Schechter Academy (formerly South Area Solomon Schechter Day School) is located at One Commerce Way in Norwood. Register at bostonjcc.org/south.   • Radio Disney will host their second annual Platypus Day celebration at in Foxborough on Sat., March 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This family-friendly event will feature interactive entertainment including learning "The Platypus Walk", "Phineas and Ferb"-themed activities, music and prizes. Admission is Free.
