Grab & Go Kids Planner: Fall Family Fun

Fall is right around the corner. Get into the swing of things with some apple picking and the Sherborn Grange Fair.

  • Summer is waning and fall on its way and that means apple picking at Dowse Orchards on North Main Street in Sherborn. Fall apple varieties include Cortland, Macoun, McIntosh, Milton and Spartan. Pick your own apples and enjoy fresh-pressed cider. For more information call (508) 653-2639.
  • Smolak Farms' New Apple Festival in North Andover is this weekend. Take your kids out for a chance to meet Johnny Appleseed and try a variety of different apples. The event is on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to adults and children. For more information click here.
  • The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk is this Sunday. Take the little ones out to see the walkers and let them know about the great things that the Jimmy Fund has to offer. For those who would like to walk, click here to look at the several routes or you can even be a virtual walker.
  • All are invited to the Sherborn Grange Fair which will take place at the Barber Reservation from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The Sherborn Grange Fair is a harvest celebration, free to all, which brings the town's community together to celebrate and appreciate natural and agricultural resources. There will be a ton of kids activitities.
