Gazebo Players of Medfield to Perform 'Murder at the Library' on March 31

Editor's note: The following press release was submitted by the Gazebo Players of Medfield.

The Gazebo Player of Medfield and the will be hosting “Murder at the Library” on Saturday, March 31 from 7 to 10 p.m.

What do you imagine happens when the library doors close and the lights go out? Just like in the movie Night at the Museum, it turns out that all the characters spring to life.

Do you think they hold deep, philosophical discussions, or do they get along about as well as, say, you and your annoying older brother? Find out on March 31st when the Gazebo Players and the Medfield Public Library host “Murder at the Library.”

Once a year, all the library characters hold the Shakespeare Awards (also known as the “Shakies”) to honor the greatest writer in the library. This year, you are invited to the ceremony. When you arrive, you will learn that the ceremonies have been cancelled because one of the nominees for the coveted award for Character of the Year has been murdered. Instead of attending the Shakies Ceremony, your job will be to figure out which literary character has committed the murder, the murder weapon, and the motive.

Characters from favorite books, plays, poems, and movies will be on hand to “clue” you in as you “circulate” around the Library. They will tell you what they were doing before the murder, and what they saw others characters doing as well. Which characters can you believe, and which are lying to cover their own tracks? Luckily, some famous literary sleuths will be there to help you figure that out. The library will be open from 7 to 10 p.m., as you put together the clues, and the guest with the first correct answer will win a fabulous prize and an honorary Shakie when the solution is revealed at the end of the evening.
