5 Things: Fashion Show, Fundraiser and Antiques 101

Here's a look at the day ahead for Thursday, May 10.

Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for showers likely, mainly before 11 a.m. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Thursday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 10 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. West wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Notable Events:

  • The Fourth Annual "Styles for Miles" Fashion Show Fundraiser, to benefit the Pan Mass Challenge, will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at at the Kingsbury Club in Medfield. Enjoy an afternoon of food, fun and fashion with a champagne luncheon, a fashion show featuring KOKOON - Contemporary Women's Clothing, raffles, prizes, cash bar special and more.   • Parents of the Destination Imagination championship teams will host a fundraiser at from 6 to 9 p.m. to help defray costs for the Global Finals later this month. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of fabulous silent auction items while enjoying tasty food and refreshing drinks in the wonderful Zullo Gallery atmosphere.   • The Medfield Historical Society welcomes Paul Royka, a nationally-known appraiser who has appeared on PBS’s Antiques Road Show, as he presents an "Antiques 101" Lecture at the Dwight-Derby House at 7 p.m. Join Royka as he answers questions about valuing antiques and collectibles during this entertaining and educational presentation. Admission is free and open to the public.
