5 Things: Selectmen Meeting, Boys' Soccer Night at Italian Groceria Night and Football Clinic

Here's a look at the day ahead for Tuesday, May 1.

Turn the Calendar: Today is the first day of May.

Today's Forecast: Tuesday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for showers, mainly before 2 p.m. Areas of fog after 2 p.m. High near 52. South wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Tuesday Night: A chance of showers before 8 p.m., then a chance of rain or drizzle between 8 and 10 p.m., then a chance of drizzle after 10 p.m. Areas of fog before 8 p.m., then Patchy fog after 9 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. East wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

The following meetings will take place at the :

  • The Board of Selectmen will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. in the Chenery Meeting Room. The meeting agenda can be found HERE
  • The Medfield Affordable Housing Committee will hold a meeting in the Warrant Room at 5:45 p.m. to continue reviewing the West Street 40B Housing Project proposed by The Gatehouse Group.

Italian Groceria Night: Take the night off from cooking to support the boys’ soccer team at the from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight. Enjoy sandwiches, calzones, prepared meals, and salads. Call ahead (508) 359-8117 and have your dinner waiting for you when you arrive. Italian Groceria will very generously donate 30 percent of the night’s proceeds to Medfield High School boys’ soccer.

Football Clinic: There will be a free football skills clinic at for grades 8 to 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

 Warriors' Tuesday:

  • Boys' lacrosse travels to Bellingham for a 3:45 p.m. game.
  • Girls' lacrosse hosts Bellingham at 3:45 p.m.
  • The girls' and boys' spring track teams host Westwood at 3:30 p.m.
  • Boys' volleyball travels to Douglas for a 6 p.m. game.
