Feeney: DPW Testing, Chlorinating Medfield Drinking Water

Ken Feeney, Superintendent of Public Works, provided an update on Medfield's drinking water.

Medfield's Department of Public Works is monitoring the water well that tested positive for coliform bacteria and will continue to chlorinate the water, according to Superintendent of Public Works Ken Feeney.

"We have count 17 coliform bacteria in the well ... that was our last test," Feeney said. "What we do is chlorinate it before it goes into the system and it comes out zero. The system is fine."

Feeney said he believes a private company contaminated the well while doing "some work" on it and it's going "to take awhile for it to come clear."
