All aboard an Old Town Trolley for MEMO's Discover Medfield History Day on June 9.

Medfield residents are invited to come play tourists of the town by hopping aboard an Old Town Trolley for one of five tours of the exteriors of historic Medfield Houses on Saturday, June 9 and hear the stories of “Tragedy, Sorrow, Ghosts and History” that Medfield's oldest houses tell as narrated by Medfield Town Historian Richard DeSorgher.

Tickets for the annual tour, sponsored by the Medfield Employer and Merchants Organization, MEMO, may be purchased at beginning June 1. Prices are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children under 12.

Each identical tour departs from the Dwight-Derby House on Frairy Street on the hour beginning at 9 a.m. with a final departure at 2 p.m. Tickets must be purchased for a specific tour time and will only be sold on site the day of departure if any remain available.

Discover Medfield History Day is one of the seasonal events sponsored by MEMO, organized in 1979. The purpose of the organization, similar to a chamber of commerce, is to promote local businesses, services and professionals in Medfield and to provide a network where they can share ideas and business practices.

MEMO also offers concerts in the Gazebo Park on summer Thursday nights (beginning June 14 featuring the Jazz Ensemble), the annual Discover Medfield Day in September, a Christmas tree lighting/carol singing and Santa parade in December. The business organization also honors local residents serving in the military by flying flags along the central business district on each major holiday and provides annual scholarships to graduating seniors at Medfield High and Tri-County Regional Vocational High Schools.

All events are provided with the help of individual MEMO member sponsors. MEMO also makes financial or in kind donations to various local charities and organizations in support of their activities and events including but not limited to: Medfield Youth Baseball, Medfield Home Committee, Medfield Green Day, Eagle Scout candidates, the Peter Kenny Excellence in TV award, the Medfield Police and Medfield Fire Departments, The Center at Medfield.
