Demolition of Medfield's Odyssey House Complete

The house was apart of 37 acres of land set to be owned by the town of Medfield.

As Medfield moves toward purchasing land occupied by the former Medfield State Hospital, demolition was recently completed to the Odyssey House.

The house, located on Hospital Road, was apart of the 37-acre parcel of land the town is set to purchase. Initially, the Massachusetts Historical Commission denied a request to demolish the building, but subsequently gave Medfield officials the green light to move forward.

On Thursday, the Medfield Parks and Recreation Department posted a photo gallery of the house before and after the demolition on the property. Medfield Selectman Osler "Pete" Peterson also recently posted photos of the demolition on his Medfield02052 blog both before and after the demolition.
