CVS Parking Lot New and Improved

CVS has given the town of Medfield an early holiday gift: an improved driveway onto Route 27.

You may have seen the crews working on Thursday, Oct. 24, as they widened the opening that has caused traffic backups since the store was renovated.

"The entrance was just too narrow and the parking next to the entrance/exit onto Route 27 forced cars to the left causing cars to block the entrance causing cars to back up on Route 27 onto the lights," said Selectman Richard DeSorgher who has been calling for the entrance/exit to be addressed.

DeSorgher said that, after some time, he was able to arrange a meeting with CVS'  district manager, store manager, and their engineer.

"In the half hour we stood at the CVS site, it became obvious to all that the design was wrong," said DeSorgher, adding that CVS agreed to make the changes.

"This is another example of town and private business partnership on making the wheels of government work," DeSorgher said.
