"[Medfield] Fire Chief Bill Kingsbury requested help with issues from Barry Salvucci of NSTAR," Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. said. "He is our representative [with NSTAR]. Since then, we have had progress in the Winter Street and Forest Street areas. I do not have confirmation, but I believe that there has been progress in general in the last couple of hours."

NSTAR has maintained its estimation that Medfield will be restored to normal operations by Wednesday evening. At 8 a.m., 96 NSTAR customers were still waiting to be restored of electricity lost during last weekend's October Nor'easter.

Meaney listed some of the neighborhoods still in the dark during Tuesday's Board of Selectmen meeting.

"Forest Street, Winter Street, Cedar Lane and Lantern Lane are completely dark [Tuesday night]," Meaney said. "There's probably some houses in those areas or extending from those [neighborhoods] that still [also] still don't have electricity."

Meaney told the selectmen NSTAR made a verbal commitment to fully restoring power Tuesday night and while significant progress was made, there were still 96 without power Wednesday morning.

The number of outages in town was at 129 as of 8 p.m. Tuesday, down from the 667 from 8 a.m. that day. However, there have been setbacks along the way. At midnight Wednesday, the number was down to 80 before increasing to 96 by 8 a.m. Medfield resident Chuck Conti informed Medfield Patch he lost power again Wednesday morning around 9:30 or 10, after having it restored.

Temporary loss of power after restoration can occur until the town is fully restored of power. If residents do experience an outage after restoration, NSTAR asks they report it.

"We encourage customers whose electric service is affected to report it by using our "Report an Outage" tool or by calling us at (800) 592-2000," NSTAR said in a statement on its website.
