Today's Forecast: Wednesday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for rain and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then rain likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 50. Northeast wind between 10 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. Wednesday Night: A chance of rain showers before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of snow showers between 11 p.m. and midnight. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 31.  North wind between 8 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

  • and the on North Street are both closed today for the Thanksgiving holiday break. Classes resume on schedule on Monday, Nov. 28.
  • Darryl and the Derelicks, a local five-piece band, will be playing at the at 9 p.m. The band features Medfield’s own Kevin Shiels (MHS 1986) on keyboard. Dance the night away to the bands blend of classic rock and blues. Admission is $5.
  • Exercise for Life for seniors at the Center will be held today at 10:15 a.m.  The COA will close early today at 1 p.m.

The will host several events today:

  • Children and teens in grades four and up are invited to stop by the Medfield Library every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. to choose and play from a collection of Wii games. The gaming station will be set up in the lower level meeting room.
  • Pattycake Place Story Time will be held at 10:45 a.m. Children, ages 0-23 months old are invited to particpate in the interactive storytime with their caregivers. A Toddler Storytime for pre-schoolers ages 2 and 3 will be held at 11:30 a.m.
