Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41. Southwest wind between 9 and 11 mph. Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 61. West wind between 10 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.  Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. North wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Medfield’s Annual Pantry Sale at the Peak House: The Annual pantry sale at the historic Peak House will take place Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. The Annual Peak House Thanksgiving Day Sale sponsored by the . The Peak House is one of a kind and is one of the few surviving examples of post-medieval English architecture in the United States. It is the only free standing structure of its kind in America. The long awaited sale also draws visitors who know what delicacies - home-baked pies, breads, cookies and jams and jellies - are waiting inside. The homemade apple pies, made by a pie baking committee, and the wheels of Vermont Cheddar, sell out early in the day.

Previously, the cheese had been cut in pound wedges by Ellis Allen, who drove up from the Cape for the sale. Last year, in announcing his retirement, Allen handed over the original cheese cutting-tool made by his grandfather to Mike Stamer, the society’s treasurer. As always, there will be favorite Historical Society memorabilia that include cup plates, in a variety of colors, embossed with the Peak House, refrigerator magnets, maps and postcards. Medfield Histories, prior to 1889 by the Society’s founder William Tilden and from 1889 through 1924 by Town Historian Richard DeSorgher also are popular.             

 “The History of Medfield” DVD includes photos of Medfield throughout its 350-year history. DeSorgher narrates the video. Profits from the sale of this item benefit the Society’s Scholarship Fund.

In addition to the wonderful home baked goodies, more than one bargain can be found on the lawn at the White Elephant tables outside the house and under the tent. The proceeds from donor contributions and the annual sale are used to maintain and make necessary repairs to the house. Everyone is invited to visit Medfield's historic treasure while the house is decorated for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Adopt a Cat for $5 Saturday at Medfield Animal Shelter: The Medfield Animal Shelter has many cats and kittens in its care and will be hosting adoption hours this today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of a one-day promotion to help these animals find homes.

"We are pleased to announce we are participating in the Best Friends Animal Society's $5 felines promotion and all cats, age 5 months or older, are available for just a $5 adoption fee if you adopt on Saturday," the shelter said. "If you have been thinking about adding a cat to your home, come by on Saturday to meet our kitties."

Dale Street School CSA Holiday Bazaar: Dale Street School’s CSA will hold a Holiday Bazaar Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.

It will include a Holiday Shop “Just for Kids,” where kids can secretly shop for affordable holiday gifts for their family and take them home wrapped and ready for the holiday. A Holiday Shop “Just for Parents” sponsored by Park Street Books, will also be available. Gift-wrapping will be available.

Traditional craft booths are owned and operated by individual classrooms. This event will also feature raffles.
