5 Things to do on Winter Vacation in Medfield

A list of ideas on how to keep busy and entertained in Medfield this week.

With Christmas now over, the attention, for students in Medfield at least, turns to the week ahead – a week with no school. 

But for parents in town who are still looking for ideas on how to keep their kids occupied during the winter break, we've put together a list of suggestions to keep in mind.

  • Enjoy the many features and programs offered by the this week.
  • Go for a hike at or Noon Hill Reservation.
  • Cheer on  varsity boys' and girls' hockey and boys' basketball teams this week during winter tournaments. Boys' basketball will travel to Oliver Ames for a tournament beginning Dec. 27. Boys' hockey travels to Bourne for a weekend tournament, beginning Dec. 28. Girls' hockey faces off against Dover-Sherborn at Boch Arena, Dec. 29 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Take a short drive to Patriot Place at Foxborough for ice skating. Patriot Place's Winter Skate is open Monday through Thursday, 4 to 9 p.m.; Friday, 4 to 11 p.m.; Saturday and school holidays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Check out the latest exhibit at the , "A Second Look." This exhibit features 14 artists selected from this year's 17th Annual Juried Exhibition, working in a wide range of styles and mediums, focusing on a variety of subjects. The show features photography, watercolor, oil, collage, pastels, woodcuts and graphite.
