5 Things: Silent Auction, Weekend Events and Blogging on Patch

Here's a look at the day ahead for Friday, June 15.

Today's Forecast: Friday’s weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for sunny, with a high near 73. East wind between 6 and 11 mph. Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Silent Auction: Forever Home Rescue New England will host its third annual silent auction at the Center at Medfield tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m. FHRNE is an all-volunteer organization that has found loving homes for 2,200 abandoned and abused dogs over the past four years, but the work has barely begun. In these difficult economic times, more and more families are giving up their beloved animals. FHRNE works closely with partners in the southern states, where the number of abandoned and abused dogs is staggering. Each weekend, a transport of lucky dogs and puppies come to Medfield, where FHRNE volunteers work tirelessly to find forever homes for them. The annual auction is FHRNE's single biggest fundraising event. All money raised goes to the dogs; spay, neuter, vet care and transport. Bring your family and
enjoy a fun-filled evening with food donated by Basil Restaurant and many wonderful items to bid on including Disney World park hopper passes, Red Sox tickets,
hotel stays, and much more. FHRNE is also still accepting donations if you have something to share. For more info, call Julie Rosenman at (508) 404-6902 or email her at foreverhomerescue@gmail.com.
FHRNE is a non-profit, no-kill, all volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
