5 Things: Destination Imagination Barn Sale, Senior Happenings and Spring Sports

Here's a look at the day ahead for Friday, May 4.

Today's Forecast: Friday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for showers likely, mainly before 2 p.m. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 58. South wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Friday Night: Showers likely, mainly between 8 and 9 p.m., then areas of drizzle after 9 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 51. East wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Noteable Events:

  • The Destination Imagination Team will sponsor a Barn Sale Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 161 Granite St., Medfield. All proceeds of the sale will help the team defray costs for going to the Global Finals at the end of May.  From furniture to toys to household goods and everything in between you're sure to find a bargain at the DI Barn Sale. 
  • Senior Happenings at the Center: Hand 'N Foot Card Game 9:30 a.m., Tai Chi 10 a.m. ($5 per class); Movie Time 10 a.m. and Ladies Indoor Bocce 11:15 a.m.

  • The baseball and softball teams travel to Norton for games scheduled at 3:45 p.m.
  • The boys' and girls' tennis teams face Norton today at 3:45 p.m. The girls' team will play away while the boys' team plays home.

  • The boys' and girls' lacrosse teams face Holliston today. The girls' team will play home at 5 p.m. while the boys' team travels to Holliston for a 5:15 p.m. game.
