5 Things: Prom Night, Guys and Dolls and Boys' Lax

Here's a look at the day ahead for Friday, May 11.

Today's Forecast: Friday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. West wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 43. Northwest wind between 5 and 8 mph becoming calm.

Noteable Events:

  • All Medfield Public Schools will be released early today for Teacher Professional Day. The High School and Middle Schools will be dismissed at  11:10 a.m., Dale and Memorial at 11:35 a.m. and Wheelock at 12:10 p.m. There will be no AM kindergarten.
  • The Junior-Senior Prom will take place tonight from 6 to 11 p.m. at Lake Pearl Luciano's in Wrentham.
  • The Woodland Theatre Company presents the romantic comedy "Guys and Dolls" at the tonight at 8 p.m. Winner of eight Tony Awards, this musical tale, set in New York City in the mid 20th Century, explores what happens between gambling men and gangsters and the showgirls and missionary dolls who desire to tame them. "Guys and Dolls" is based on the Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser; Book by Jo Swerling & Abe Burrows; Directed by Doug Hodge and Music Direction by Chris Holownia. Performances of "Guys and Dolls" will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased HERE.
