5 Things: MHS Evening of Excellence, Cub Scout Sign-Ups, Historical Society Meeting

Here's a quick look at what's happening in Medfield today, June 6.

Today's Forecast: Wednesday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton calls for a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. North wind at 6 mph becoming east. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Notable Events:

  • The Medfield Historical Society will hold a meeting at the Warrant Committee Room 7:30 p.m.  The meeting agenda can be found HERE.
  • Medfield Cub Scout 113 and 200 will hold a Cub Scout registration tonight at the between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. Families of boys entering first through fifth grades who are interested in joining Cub Scouts are invited to learn more about local scouting, and how they can join a pack for the upcoming 2012-2013 season.
  • will host an Evening of Excellence celebrating the academic achievement of students in grades 9–11 at 7 p.m.

  • The Medfield Job and Business Networking group will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Daily Room. This Open Networking Group provides support for job seekers who are looking for a new job, changing careers, or those interested in building their professional network. All are welcome to attend.
  • Pattycake Place Story Time will take place at 10:45 a.m. Children, ages 0-23 months old are invited to participate in the interactive storytime with their caregivers. Also at the library today, will be the Book Bunch Storytime, beginning at 11:30 a.m. for preschoolers, ages 2 and up.
  • Children and teens in grades four and up are invited to stop by the Medfield Library every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. to choose and play from a collection of Wii games. The gaming station will be set up in the lower level meeting room.
