Here's a look at the weekend ahead for May 5-6.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 66. North wind around 8 mph. Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 43.

Medfield Green Day: Medfield Green's annual town recycling event will be held Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Hall. Medfield Green Day, sponsored by MEMO, was created to help find homes for things you no longer use or need as a way to keep items out of our landfills. This one-stop reuse and redistribution event is a great opportunity to pass on your unwanted items for use by someone else. Items that will be collected this year include:

  • Baby Gear: (Strollers, Car Seats, High Chairs, Clothing, etc.)
  • Books, videos, DVDs: (Please no magazines, encyclopedias or text books)
  • Clothing and Shoes for all ages and sizes
  • Decorative Items: (Mirrors, framed artwork, home decor, lamps and small pieces of furniture)
  • Electronics: (TV's, radios, phones, computers, monitors, etc.  (There is a $5 - $25.00 fee for some items)
  • Eyeglasses: (The Medfield Lions will provide a collection box for eyeglasses)
  • Household Goods: (Dishes, Cookware and Small Appliances)
  • Linens: (Blankets, comforters, towels, sheets, curtains, etc.)
  • Metal: (Snow blowers, lawn mowers, grills, stoves, engines, refrigerators, washers, patio furniture, etc.)
  • Pet items: (Beds, crates, toys, leashes, collars, cages)
  • Small household items: (lamps, dishes, etc.)
  • Sports equipment

Medfield High School Theatre Society Presents 'The Hot Seat': The Medfield High School Theatre will present its annual student directed One-Act Festival with two performances of 'The Hot Seat' to benefit the David E. Medeiros Memorial Scholarship. The 'Hot Seat' features eight short plays acted out by members of the senior class of .

The "Hot Seat" will be held Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday, May 6th at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at Lord's Department Store.

Barn Sale to Benefit Destination Imagination: Saturday's Barn Sale at 161 Granite St., sponsored by the state champion Medfield High School Destination Imagination teams, will offer everything from furniture to toys to household goods. Funds raised at the barn sale will help the Destination Imagination teams defray costs to compete in the Global Finals in Tennessee at the end of May.
