5 Things for the Weekend: Art Exhibit, Guide to Memorial Day and Historical Society Open House

Here's a look at the weekend ahead for May 26-27.

Weekend Forecast: Saturday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for areas of fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 88. West wind between 9 and 13 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Sunday: A slight chance of showers after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Sunday Night: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. South wind between 6 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition Exhibit at Zullo Gallery: The Zullo Art Gallery’s latest art exhibit "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition" will run from April 5 through June 24. This exhibit is heavily influenced by the launch of its first “one-town, one-book” selection of 'Outwitting History' by Aaron Lansky. "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition," according to Zullo Gallery, features artwork that reflects any aspect of the artists' personal cultural legacy, whether family heritage, lessons or experiences learned from previous generations, or stories from the past.  The reception is free and open to the public. Zullo Gallery Center is located at 456 Main Street in Medfield.  Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

A Guide to Medfield’s Memorial Day Parade: Medfield’s Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies will be held Monday, May 28 beginning at 9:45 a.m. behind Town Hall, with a ceremony taking place at Baxter Park at 10 a.m. to read more details.

Historical Society Open House: The Medfield Museum and Historical Society building, located at 6 Pleasant St., will be open from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Feel free to stop in to browse through its collections and materials that document the history of Medfield since its founding in 1649. Learn more about this history of Medfield, your family genealogy, famous people of Medfield and much more. Admission is free and open to the public, although donations to help defray preservation and curation costs are always appreciated.
