What's the "Matter" at Dale Street School?

The Discovery Museums of Acton, MA visited the Dale Street School this week. The museum presented the workshop "Physical Changes of Matter". Students were amazed at seeing a solid change to a gas right before their eyes. (sublimation) They learned the difference between a physical change and a chemical change. Denise Cooper was the Museum Instructor. Each Grade 5 Classroom attended the workshop. Dry Ice, Liquid Nitrogen, a carnation turned to crystal, a banana turned solid, were some of the highlights. Students will continue to learn about matter in their science classes. The CSA sponsored the workshops that left the students wanting to learn more about the physical changes of matter.
