Medfield Cultural Council Grant Deadline is Oct. 15

Medfield: The Medfield Cultural Council is now accepting grants from organizations, schools, and individuals to support cultural activities in the community. The postmark deadline is October 15, 2013. Programs occurring between July 1, 2013 – December 31, 2014 are eligible.

According to Council Chair Jean Mineo, these grants support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Medfield -- including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures. “Our priorities are to fund cultural organizations in town and projects that directly serve Medfield residents. We also like to fund a full spectrum of activities from music and drama to dance and visual arts.”

The Medfield Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCC) serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
