AUGUST 1 DEALINE: Donate School Supplies to the Medfield Food Cupboard

Most kids in Medfield find school supply shopping fun. They pick out their favorite color binders and search for coordinating notebooks and folders. They try to convince their parents to buy that purple glue that never dries as clear as promised. However, for some Medfield students, school supply shopping season is anything but fun.  It can mean preparing for another year of borrowing pens, pencils, and paper, or, having the embarrassment of a teacher accuse you of being unprepared.

This summer, 10th graders from Girl Scout Troop 74900 are assisting Medfield Food Cupboard’s youngest clients be prepared for back to school.  We are collecting donations of the following  items in our box at the Library during the month of July, as well as at the Unitarian Church’s Farmer’s Market on July 10th, July 17th and July 24th.    We also welcome cash donations to help fund the purchase of about 36 backpacks . Please have any donations in the donation box or given to our girl scout patrol by August 1 so the students can have them for the start of the school year.
