Big Blue Rally Falls Short as Medfield loses 78-69 vs. Hopkinton

The Medfield Boys' Basketball Team lost to Hopkinton High School tonight in the First Round of the Division 2 Central MIAA Tournament 78-69. The Big Blue found themselves down by 10 at halftime 35-25 and the Hopkinton lead went up to 23 in the second half, but the Big Blue battled back and the roller coaster ride began. Back and forth , up and down went the play in the second half and Medfield cut the lead to 4. Hopkinton made 15 free throws in the game with many down the stretch, finally defeating the Big Blue by 9. 5 Medfield players scored in double digits. Senior Captain Matt Cahiil had 12, Senior Brian Hunter had 11, Senior Jake Karger with 12 and Juniors Sean Conroy and Matt Patry each had 10.  Both teams had large crowds and the atmosphere was electric as the Big Blue made their run only to fall short. The Big Blue finishes the season with a 12-9 record.
