Community Update

After several weeks of planning the Medfield Lions Club teamed up with
the Friends of Seniors Inc. (FOSI) to host Medfield’s Fourth Annual Chowder
Fest on Saturday November 2nd at the Center at Medfield. The Lions and FOSI
would like to personally thank the local restaurateurs/markets who made this
fund raiser a success: Craig Neubecker of Zebra's Bistro and Wine Bar, Tommy
McGue of Basils Restaurant, Steve Slesor of Noon Hill Grill,
Rick
Brennan of Ice House Restaurant at the Kingsbury
Club, John Boardman of J & L Catering and Take Out of Medway, and Tom
Moynihan of Roches Market. Out of this world delicious rolls were provided by
Dan Freedman of Blue Moon Bagel Café and Big Y Markets provided the soft
drinks. Event Coordinator Lion Tony Centore commented that “The local Medfield
community enjoys this annual event and we served over 140 people, and generated
over $1,200 to support the good work of FOSI.” Chuck Conti FOSI president said
the funds raised will help to underwrite fitness classes at the Center. The
“Best Chowder” winner will be officially announced at the December Lions Dinner
Meeting on December 4th. Lion Tony’s only hint is that “the winner is the first
for this entrant”.

Celebrating its 69th anniversary, the Medfield
Lions Club is a member of the world's largest service club organization with
nearly 1.4 million men and women in 190 countries who volunteer their time and
energy to serve their communities, and lead the effort to prevent and reverse
blindness. Checkout the Medfield Lions’ new web page at http://lionwap.org/eclub/sites/Medfield/index.php
