Zullo Gallery to Celebrate 25th Anniversary, Portable Library at Medfield Day

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The Zullo Gallery will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Oct. 3, prompting thoughtful statements from Medfield Selectmen at the board meeting Tuesday. "What a gem we have in the town of Medfield," said Richard DeSorgher.

2. Take a book, leave a book is the idea behind a portable library that will be stationed near the pocket park on Medfield Day Saturday, a small doll-house style structure that resembles the Medfield Public Library, and allows the browser to open up the facade to select a book.

3. The Medfield Foundation Angel Run, which draws more than 1,000 runners each year, will be on Dec. 8. Registrations will only be online this year, and are being taken now.

4. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2014 Volunteer of the Year, Youth Volunteer of the Year, and the Lifetime Achievement Award, all bestowed by the Medfield Foundation. Nomination forms can be submitted on its site.

5. Save the Date: the Medfield Fire Department is sponsoring a blood drive on Monday, Sept. 30 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Medfield American Legion, 110 Peter Kristof Way. All presenting donors entered to win gift certificates from Go Fresh, Medfield. To schedule an appointment please call 1-800- RED-CROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
