Ninth Graders to Begin Bringing Tablets, Laptops

Here are five things to help inform your day.

1. The ninth grade class at Medfield High School will bring their tablets and laptops to classes, beginning Tuesday. The digital initiative was launched this year for the first time. About 80 percent of the freshmen opted for tablets.

2. Medfield received nine bids for the $9.5 million, 20-year bond issue that will be used to finance a municipal garage construction project. Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., Inc. was the winning bidder on the Bonds with an average interest rate of 3.24 percent, according to a blog post by Selectman Osler ''Pete" Peterson.

3. Are you interested in becoming a Hospice volunteer? Training begins on Thursday.

4. The teen group TARGET meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Medfield Town Library. The group this month will talk about its Haunted House and plans to scare the devil out of people.

5. A free Alzheimer's Care training workshop will be held Wednesday at the Walpole Library.
