New Superintendent Attends First Meeting, First Scrimmage for Medfield Warriors

Here are some things to know to help inform your day.

1. New Superintendent Jeffrey Marsden attended his first meeting of the Medfield School Committee Tuesday. The summer-time, pre-school opening agenda was light. Committee members divided the tasks of representing the school system on various subcommittees.

2. Marsden told School Committee members Tuesday he had met over the summer with more than 100 parents and other Medfield residents, and said the reception he's received so far in town has been wonderful. "It's been great," he said. "I can't thank the people of Medfield enough."

3. The Medfield Warriors had a first scrimmage Tuesday afternoon against Belmont.

4. Boston Magazine has named Medfield High School to its list of the top 50 high schools in greater Boston. The ranking is 37, based on several factors cited by the magazine analysis.

5. Medfield High School is seeking freshmen interested in playing field hockey. If interested contact Coach Mason at mmason@medfield.mec.edu.
