Medfield Selectmen Consider Tax Work-Off for Veterans

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Medfield Selectmen in their next meeting will consider whether to allow town veterans to "work off" by volunteering up to $1,000 of their annual property taxes. The program is available through the state. A similar program is available to senior citizens, so selectmen may also consider increasing their tax work-off amount.

2. David Epstein, author of Gardens of New England, will speak to the Medfield Garden Club on Sept 11 about caring for indoor plants. All are welcome.

3. The Medfield Youth Basketball association is accepting registrations through Sept. 15 for players in two age groupings.

4. Services in the area for Rosh Hashanah begin at sundown Wednesday. One of the temples nearby offering services is Temple Shaare Tefilah in Norwood.

5. A reminder that the Medfield Conservation Commission meets Thursday to discuss a 92-unit housing development.
