Community Corner

Good Morning, Medfield. I'm Back!

A returning editor, police log, football photos and more.

After a little Patch reshuffling, I'm back in Medfield!

I'd like to thank editor Mary MacDonald for doing such a great job during the last two months; it was exciting to see Medfield through her eyes. I know, in the short time she was here, she came to appreciate our unique community so you should not be surprised if you run into her uptown.

So, that's one thing you should know today, here are a few more:

* Here's a look at the latest Medfield police log which includes pit bulls on the loose, and a standard traffic stop during which police found ammunition without an FID card.

* Do you love high school football? Check out these photos from the Warriors' Freshman/JV2 game against Holliston on Thursday. The varsity teams will play tonight, Oct. 18, in Holliston at 6 p.m.

* The Lowell Mason Foundation seeks volunteers to help work on the Lowell Mason House on Saturdays Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Are you interested in cool stories about life and crime in Medfield over the last several decades? Join the Medfield Historical Society on Monday, Nov. 4, at the First Parish Church, for an evening with former Police Chief Bill Mann as he tells more stories than you can imagine.

* Don't forget to mark your calendar for the special town election on Monday, Oct. 21, regarding the purchase of Red Gate Farm. A special town meeting agreed to purchase the 30-acre property but a special town election must now approve implementing a debt override to fund the purchase. HERE is the ballot.

Have a great day, Medfield; it's good to be back!
