First Football Game, Crystal Cave Going Away Party

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The freshmen and JV Medfield Warriors fell to Dedham, 13-6, in the first game of the 2013 season.  It was played out in 90-degree plus heat. For a video of the first touchdown, see this live post from the game.

2. The Crystal Cave on Park Street will host a Going Away Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, according to an emailed post. The store owner is going to close up shop and move to Sarasota, FL.

3. The Rev. Meg Soens, the new minister at First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Medfield, will speak on “Beginning Our Ministry Together” on Sunday, Sept. 15, starting at 10 am. The church serves residents of Medfield, Millis, Medway, Walpole, Norfolk, and surrounding towns. Child care is available, and there is an active religious education program for children 5-14.

4. At Medfield Day on Sept. 21, the Medfield Coalition for Public Education will sell $5 raffle tickets for a chance to win a pair of tickets to its May 2nd "Spring Fling" (value $150).

5. Save the date: "MCPE Community Trivia Night" will be Friday, November 15th at 7:00 PM at The Center at Medfield on Ice House Road. Teams of up to four adult players can register afterSeptember 21st at www.MedfieldCoalition.org.  The cost is $100 per team.
