Cheerleading Returns to Support Medfield Football

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The first home game for the varsity Medfield Warriors Football team is 7:30 p.m. Friday. And for the first time in years, a cheerleading squad will be helping to lead the crowd in support. In an email from guidance counselor Erik Ormberg: "The Cheerleaders are a club team formed by sophomore Madison Giunta. Madison has cheered for 8+ years, first with the Viking Pop Warner program, and now she cheers at Cheerfactor, an All-Star program out of Foxboro."

2. Speaking of football and athletics, the team has a website of its own now. Make sure you check it out to keep up with the latest information.

3. Have you "liked" the Facebook page of the Medfield Historical Society? Any guess what the featured object is?

4. Massachusetts State Police will hold a sobriety checkpoint on a public way in Norfolk County from Friday, Sept. 20 into Saturday, Sept. 21, according to a news release.

5. Save the Date: Medfield Town Library will host a College Prep Workshop, featuring a team of Harvard and Tufts students who will help you to build a list of schools, create a professional resume and conquer the common application college essay. The workshop is from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28.
