Attracting some 60 singers at the height of its popularity\, in recen t years the group experienced a decline in membership and decided to dis band after its last concert in 2011.\nNow\, a group of enthusiastic form er Community Singers has made a fresh start under the name of &ldquo\;Me dfield Community Singers&rdquo\; and is inviting former as well as new m embers from Medfield and surrounding towns to sing with them. The group meets to rehearse at the First Parish Church in Medfield\, under the lea dership of its new conductor\, Everard Huggan. The repertoire this year will focus on world music\, gospel\, as well as local composer Lowell Ma son\, and the emphasis will be on the social and community aspects of si nging together for enjoyment. Performances in various venues will be pla nned once the group has found its voice.\nNo audition is required\, but singers must be at least of high-school age. The group will assess itsel f an annual fee of $ 100 per member\, in order to cover its expenses and save the time otherwise spent on fundraising.\nInterested singers are i nvited to join us at 7:00 for coffee and socializing\; rehearsals start at 7:30.
