DESCRIPTION:The acoustic guitar has been a musical fixture for  centuries
 . Beginning in 17th century Spain and continuing through present  day\, 
 the guitar has been used in almost all styles of music using a  variety 
 of techniques. Some of these styles include classical\, flamenco\,  blue
 s\, jazz\, ragtime\, latin\, japanese\, and hawaiian\, and some of the  
 techniques used are finger-style\, tremolo\, plectrum\, harmonics\, slid
 e\,  percussive playing\, and alternate tunings. This program will explo
 re  many of the different styles and techniques on this extremely versat
 ile  instrument.\nChris Keiffer is a unique guitarist who actively perfo
 rms and teaches  in the Boston area and is a 2007 graduate of the Berkle
 e College of  Music. In his 25 years of playing and studying\, he has ex
 plored a variety  of musical styles on both the acoustic and electric gu
 itar including  blues\, folk\, jazz\, slide\, bluegrass\, rock\, R&amp\;
 B and funk. In recent  years\, his focus has been on solo acoustic guita
 r and the many moods  it can create. From the beauty of a gypsy love bal
 lad\, to the earthy  soul of pre-war acoustic blues\, Chris has an appre
 ciation and love for  all styles of music and he strives to share this p
 assion with his students  and those around him.\nJoin us for an afternoo
