How Do You Find the Right Home Improvement Contractor?
Blogger George Lonergan knows how.
I'm hoping to drive my old beater into the ground before we need to get another car, but I'm on the lookout. What's your next car going to be?
My wife and I drive a perfectly good 2002 Nissan Sentra with 127,318 miles on it. "Stella" has four wheels and gets us from Point A to Point B. We've reached the stage in the life of the car where we don't repair body damage (as you can tell from the accompanying photo). I'm ashamed for my Dad to see it. But hey, it's paid for. Even though I'd love to get 200K miles out of Stella, she has some mechanical problems, like a seized bolt that has left the transmission fluid unchangeable for about eight years. She could conk out any old day. So we've been on the lookout for our next car. I'm paying attention to car commercials, asking friends about their cars. You know the feeling. New England's largest children's bookstore has moved from Park Street to Main Street.
Park Street Books & Toys has relocated its new store to 504 Main Street. The first thing you notice when you walk into New England's largest children's bookstore, is the massive mural that starts at the door and winds upstairs to the second floor. The colorful and winding mural was created by Montana Gulbrand, a junior at Walpole High School who works at the store, and the customers are talking about it, says owner Jim James. "It's amazing and people really love it," said James who estimates it took Montana about 70 hours to complete the work. She and her friend Keiko are now creating another mural on the outside of the building, and will also do more painting inside. "It's a work in progress," James said of his new space. On a recent …

Owner says he is close to announcing a new tenant for the former Lord's Department Store.
It's been nearly three months since the lights went out at the former Lord's Department Store. Today, new owner Greg Salvatore of Salvatore Capital Partners, says he is close to signing a new tenant. "We're closer to hopefully introducing a client that will be taking over the entire property," said Salvatore, who is also bringing Starbucks to downtown Medfield. "I'm hoping that we will be able to jointly -- us as the developer and the tenant -- be able to make a statement saying 'This is the type of use'" that will be in there, he said. "Hopefully, that will be soon." Related Stories

Sports cars encompass a broad category of vehicles with one main goal — to put a smile on your face. That giddy grin can plaster itself on your face for a number of different reasons. Some people yearn for straight-line speed while others find the simple joy in placing a vehicle exactly where they want it to go. Regardless of whether you enjoy outright pace or pacing yourself through the turns, we have gathered five sports cars that should do the trick. What we have here is a very special incarnation of the long-lived Mazda Miata. While the Miata combined a classic roadster with Japanese reliability when it first came out, it wasn't until this run-out special of the second generation that Mazda did anything special under the hood. Results from a recent executive survey ranked Massachusetts 47th for business.
A CEO magazine ranks Massachusetts as one of the worst states in the nation for business. Chief Executive Magazine ranked Massachusetts 47th based on a survey of corporate leaders. Survey respondents reported the Bay State is one of the worst for taxation and regulation. The state Republican Party is pointing to the survey and saying that Gov. Deval Patrick and the Democratic-led Legislature are bad for the economy and business. What do you think about Massachusetts’ business climate? Is this a good state in which to do business?

Scott, I like your style. I also like how wicked they look in black and now that the new generation offers 4WD it is definitely at least a little pragmatic. For the same reasons, the Chevy Trailblazer SS will always have a spot in my dream garage.   more ›
