On Monday, December 10, the freshman class traveled to the John Hancock Theater in Boston to watch dramatic interpretations of short stories they have read in English class. The students saw the plays The Lady or the Tiger, The Most Dangerous Game, Ransom of Red Chief, The Open Window, and The Fall of the House of Usher.

The English Department has never offered a field trip like this to its students before.

According to ninth-grade English teacher Mrs. Sabra, the teachers thought it would be a “fun and enriching to see how they were portrayed on stage.”

The field trip was also beneficial for students.

Freshman Kathleen Diana said, “I gained a better understanding of the plot of the stories.” The trip offered a visual to what they have been learning about in class. It also offered as a nice break and a reward for students’ hard work.

This freshman class is the first group of students to go on this field trip.

Senior Alyssa Ciolfi wishes she could have gone on the field trip as a freshman and says, “I think we should have gone on the trip as freshmen because it would have been a fun way for us to adjust to the school.”
