Weekend Planner for August 11-12

Here's a look at what's going on around the area this weekend.

 

 

1.  Zombie Invasion!

Where/When: Gazebo Park, Saturday, August 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Rain location: library meeting room

Why Go:  Talented makeup artists will share tips and techniques to create frightening characters. Then compete in zombie themed games and contests.  For grades 6 and up.

Pricing: Free

 

2.  Reading with Maggie the Dog  

Where/When: Medfield Public Library, Saturday, August 11, 11 a.m. to noon

Why Go:  Read to a Labrador retriever

Pricing: Free

 

3. Tax-Free Holiday 

Where/When: Commonwealth of Massachusetts, August 11 and 12

Why Go:  To save sales tax on any purchases made on Saturday and Sunday

Pricing: No taxes!

 

4. Peak House

 Where/When:  Peak House, 345 Main Street; summer Sundays, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Step back into Colonial Medfield to learn about the town and the Peak House’s early history. Colonial artifacts on display.

Pricing: Donation.

5. Patriot Place ‘Sounds of Summer’ Concert Series featuring “Heads Up” and “Split Risk”

Where/When: Patriot Place2 Patriot Pl, Foxborough, MA, Sunday, 4 p.m.

Why Go: Patriot Place is presenting some amazing talent this year to bring music to the plaza while you shop, dine and enjoy. Local talent is given the stage and will be showcasing the music you know and love. We are offering a variety of music styles such as contemporary and alternative rock, jazz, blues, country, folk and 60's progressive to name a few.
