Police Log: Ax-Wielding Man on Christmas Eve, Good Samaritan, Injured Officer

Sunday, Dec. 23
12:36 a.m., Elm Street. Police noticed a suspicious vehicle (registered in Winchester) at the Wheelock School with no one around.
8:09 a.m., 7:01 p.m., Spring Street. Police helped with church traffic at St. Edward's.
9:16 a.m., Main Street. Police helped with church traffic at the United Church of Christ.
11:36 a.m., Cross Street. Caller said that someone vandalized her mailbox about a week ago.
1:03 p.m., Main Street. Caller reported a car accident with no personal injury. Police called the wrecker for two vehicles -- a 2012 Toyota Sienna van and a 2009 Nissan Sentra.
3:23 p.m., Hartford Street. Westwood Police said they had a call about a minivan (with a Mount Washington sticker on it) heading toward Medfield that was all over the road. Gone on arrival.
6:23 p.m., Causeway Street. Caller said that someone threw bottles in her driveway.
Monday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve
11:51 a.m., Main Street. Sherborn Police asked Medfield to check on a suspicious vehicle. Sherborn called back at 11:55 a.m. to cancel because the car was out of gas.
1:27 p.m., Main Street. E911 caller said he was just in a car accident with motor vehicle damage.
3:05 p.m., Curve Street. Caller reported that a Jeep just parked on her lawn and the driver walked up the street. Police said the car is not on her lawn but is on the sidewalk; everything all set.
3:51 p.m., Granite Street. Medfield Fire received a call that a man was having a stroke. He was transported to Norwood Hospital.
6:13 p.m., Vinebrook Road. Police discovered that the sign for Boyden Road at the intersection of Vinebrook is missing.
10:07 p.m., Main Street. Police were flagged down by an unknown person who reported an erratic driver (in a red Ford Explorer) on Main Street heading toward Millis. Medfield Police did not find the vehicle and Millis Police were notified.
10:38 p.m., South Street. Caller reported that a car (2001 green Jeep Cherokee Sport) tried to run his mother off the road on Route 27. The driver held up an ax as he passed them. This car turned up South Street toward the center of town. Police are seeking a summons for a 24-year-old man from Conway Road in Millis for assault with a dangerous weapon and threat to commit a crime.
Tuesday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day
1:21 a.m., Belknap Road. Police brought a male into the station who had been walking down North Street after having a fight with his parents. Police spoke with the boy's parents then took him home.
2:03 a.m., Pound Street. Walk-in report from a woman who reported a problem with texts she is getting. Police escorted her home.
8:30 a.m., Pine Street. Highway Department reports a vehicle off the road on Pine Street. Police responded to find that a Good Samaritan had helped pull the vehicle back onto the street.
9 a.m., Camelot Lane. E911 caller reported a 59-year-old man with very high blood pressure. Medfield Fire took him to Norwood Hospital.
9:15 a.m., 10:27 a.m., 11:10 a.m., 12:12 p.m., Spring Street. Police helped with church traffic at St. Edward's.
11:21 a.m., North Street. Caller reported a minor motor vehicle accident in front of North Street Market between a 2004 Ford Ranger and a 2006 Ford Fusion.
2:44 p.m., Pine Grove Road. Caller reported that he is taking care of pets at a house that should have been empty but someone has been in there. An incident report was filed.
5:11 p.m., Green Street. Caller reports one of her guest's cars was parked on the street and was struck and the party took off. Police will write an accident report. Officer also cut his hand while picking up car parts.
