PHOTOS: Fire Department Holds Open House
The Medfield Fire Department held an open house on Wednesday as part of National Fire Prevention Week.
Hundreds of people attended the Open House at the Medfield Fire Department on Wednesday night.
The event was held as part of National Fire Prevention Week which runs from Oct. 7 to Oct. 13.
The public enjoyed open access to the fire truck bays, an up-close-and-personal look at the town's fire apparatus, as well as pizza donated by Papa Gino's.
National Fire Prevention Week was created and sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The awareness campaign was created to educate families on what causes home fires, how to prevent them, and what to do in an emergency situation. NFPA has been the official sponsor of this campaign since 1922, making it the longest running public health and safety observance on record.
