Norfolk Man Arrested in Medfield on Multiple Drug Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Medfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Norfolk man was arrested and charged with drug possession of Class B substance and drug distribution of Class B substance during a motor vehicle stop in Medfield on Saturday, May 14, according to .

Nathan Glenn Boddie, 26, of Norfolk was pulled over by Medfield police at 3:40 p.m. on Main Street after a license plate inquiry showed his vehicle’s registration was revoked and he was uninsured, according to Medfield Chief of Police Robert Meaney Jr.

“Since the vehicle is going to be towed, the officers usually ask the drive if anything dangerous or illegal will be found during the inventory search of he vehicle,” Meaney said. “An inventory search is an administrative process to make sure that we account for any valuables before the car is towed and avoid any issues with property being unaccounted for.”

According to the charges listed in the police report, Boddie had possession of Oxycodone and distribution of Percocet. Other charges include operating after revocation of registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to police reports.

Wellesley police was contacted for a drug dog and Ashland police supplied the dog to Medfield. Meaney wanted to clarify the reasoning behind Wellesley police being called for its drug dog.

“The reason Wellesley is called for the dog has nothing to do with the fact that I worked there,” Meaney said. “When we need law enforcement assets beyond what Medfield has, we call Wellesley. The reason for calling Wellesley is because they are the point of contact and dispatch for the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council, which is a consortium of some 45 cities and towns in the metropolitan Boston area. All member towns contribute to the council, including Medfield, with personnel and/or equipment resources. Wellesley always has a minimum of two dispatchers 24/7 so they have the ability to determine which community or agency has the most appropriate, closest and available asset and then dispatches the resource.

“This resource may come from state, county or local law enforcement agencies. In the case of a dog we need to specify if we are requesting a dog to track a suspect, search for a missing person, make an area sweep for explosives or, in this case, a drug sniffing dog.”

Boddie’s bail was set at $750 plus a $40 fee. At 9:16 p.m. Boddie’s bail money had arrived to the station and Boddie was released at 10:06 p.m.

“[The operator] was driving around the building corner by Donut Express to enter Shaw’s parking lot,” Medfield Chief of Police Robert Meaney Jr. said. “This is a blind corner and he went around the corner so fast that the car actually skidded around the corner.
