UPDATE: Sign Down is Sign of Progress (Video)

Something's missing from the corner of Main Street and North Street. Did you notice?

Update: Feb. 6, 2013 -- On Friday, we showed you photos of the company sign that had been taken down from the former Mobil gas station. Today, we're sharing a video taken by Medfield Town Planner Sarah Raposa.

Check it out! What do you think?

Original story: Feb. 1, 2013 -- The gas station sign is down and engineers were doing testing at the site of the former Mobil station on Thursday.

New owner Salvatore Capital Partners plans to convert the parcel at the corner of Main and North Streets into a Starbucks by September.

Wow, I didn't even notice!! I for one am happy that something is being done with the property. It was so rundown and unsitely!! Maybe other area owners will begin clean up of their properties as well! We live in a nice town, lets keep it nice!!!

That place was an eyesore before it closed. I'm glad it's coming down.

At least Randy's and Cumbis are well kept but never that Mobil station.

I can still remember the "Flying A" horse way back when I was a kid. I shouldn't
be too thrilled about a Starbucks, though. On my next visit to my hometown I
was hoping to see the quaintness of old downtown. And now Lord's is gone.
Even Baker's Pond isn't called that anymore, is it? Alas. So much for our
history.
