On Dec. 19, the Medfield High School Swimming and Diving team beat Holliston 94-78.
Overall, the team performed very well and many swimmers had best times.
Junior Alec Haley won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:59.60. He also won the 500 freestyle in 5:19.83.
Freshmen Colton Hall and Meredith Bertoni took first and second place in the 200 IM with times of 2:23.74 and 2:23.34 respectively.
Medfield's divers swept the diving event. Junior Morgan Myers finished in first place with a score of 1:09.12, Senior Meredith Earley got second place and scored 1:04.65, and Freshman Thomas Lunn scored 77.7 for third place.
Senior Connor Haley won the 100 buttefly in 57.31. Senior Captian Jenn Alban place second in the event with a time of 1:03.18.
Medfield's 200 freestyle relays did very well. The team of Junior Ross Bovarnick, Senior Alex Carpino, Senior Katie Nickerson, and Senior Peter Woodsum got first place with a time of 1:45.57. The team of Sophomore JJ Fedak, Junior Kelsey McKenzie, Freshman Sam Johnson, and Freshman Ben Wilson placed second with a time of 1:55.07.
Connor Haley also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.95. Jake Lester placed second in the event with a time of 1:16.78; this is a best time for Jake!
The team of Alec Haley, Sophomore Natascha Borgstein, Alex Carpino, and Connor Haley won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:45.12.
Other great performances include that of Junior Bryan Ailinger in the 400 freestyle relay. Bryan did a 1:05.99 in his 100 freestyle split; this is a best time for Bryan.
Freshman Meredith Bertoni finished the 100 backstroke in 1:08.71; this time qualifies her for Sectionals!
Natascha Borgstein finished the 500 freestyle with a personal best time of 5:41.73; this betters her qualifying times for Sectionals and States.
