Starbucks still a go

 November 12, 2012

I had noticed as I jogged that the Mobil station pumps have had their hoses removed and the station looks closed (and ratty), so I asked at our meeting of the Board of Selectmen last Tuesday whether the town should be looking whether to take some action.  Kristine Trierweiler responded that the developer who has been pursuing the Starbucks at that location had in fact recently been in contact with her, that he is still going forward with the Starbucks, that he is making progress, and that he is planning on an opening next fall.  Kristine Trierweiler indicated that she is looking to get the town’s pocket park built on the town owned land between the Mobil station and Zebra’s as part of the development of the Starbucks.

Nice to know that prominent downtown site will get back into productive use – I just wish it would happen sooner.

About this column: Osler Peterson has lived and practiced law in Medfield since 1989, and been a Selectman since 2001. He created a blog, Medfield 02052, to address a perceived information gap in Medfield. He is looking to better communicate all the information he learns at the Town House as a result of being a selectman to the people of Medfield in his blog. Medfield Patch will feature his blog posts in this column. Related Topics: Blog, Osler "Pete" Peterson, Osler Peterson, Pete Peterson, Selectman, and Starbucks

Just because the station is no longer open doesn't mean the owner should abandon the place. It's just as bad as the old friendlys. Someone needs to step in and force the two owners to keep up their properties!!!
