In the season opener, the Medfield High School Varsity Field Hockey Team defeated Bishop Fenwick 3-0. Tori Brown, Michelle Diggans and Kat Shortsleeve got the goals in this one.
Up next was a back and forth battle between Westwood on the road with Westwood coming out on top 3-2. Colleen Gair, and Miranda Horan scored a
goal apiece in the defeat.
Holliston was next and the teams had difficulty scoring and the game ended
up in a 0-0 draw.
Medfield then defeated Ashland 1-0 at home with the lone goal coming from
Speaking of 0-0 draws, that's what happened in the next game as well as Bellingham came into town and battled the Warriors to a tie.
In the most recent game, Medfield had the ball in the Medway end but couldn't find the back of the cage. Medway took advatage of a fast break and a fluke goal to win 2-0.
Which leaves Medfield with a 2-2-2 record as of Friday, Sept. 21.
Playing well for the Warriors has been Senior Captain Goalie Carrie Cook.
Her save percentage is now 91% and her goals per game is at .84.
Also playing strongly for the Warriors is Senior Captain Tori Brown.
She leads the team in scoring with 1 goal and 3 assists. She been strong
offensively and defensively.
The Lady Warriors now have 12 games remaining and look forward to the next
two games versus @ Hopkinton on Tuesday and at home against Dover-Sherborn on Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
