Medfield celebrates its Division 2 state championship on Saturday.

The Medfield High School girls basketball team's dream season came to a close on Saturday, and ended with the ultimate prize.

After hopping out to a lead early, the Lady Warriors led throughout and went on to seal a 54-36 win over Nashoba Regional High School. The win at Worcester's DCU Center clinched the Division 2 state championship.

Lauren Petit led the way with 18 points for Medfield while Payton Ouimette had 11 points and Jennifer Narlee chipped in 10 markers of her own.

“We've been trying for a long time to get one of these,” said Warriors head coach Mark Nickerson. “There's a lot of work that's gone into this."
