UPDATE- Medfield Police issued another "reverse 911 call" this afternoon stating that Scott Friedman has been found safe in another town.
MEDFIELD, MA -- After an hours-long search of Noon Hill Reservation that spanned Friday night into Saturday morning, a Medfield man is still missing.
Here is a transcript of the "reverse 911" call issued on Feb. 8:
At approximately 6:10 this evening a family reported their son overdue from a walk in a reservation near his house. Scott Friedman is 21 years old and is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, 180 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a Kelly green parka, grey sweatpants, Timberland boots and it is not known if he had a hat or gloves on. He entered the reservation in the area of Nauset Street at approximately 1:30 this afternoon and has not been heard from since. It appears that his cell phone is not functioning or turned off. If anyone has any information regarding his location, please contact the Medfield Police Department at 508-359-2315.
In an email to Patch at 3 a.m., Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr. said that both the Medfield Fire and Police Departments, along with family and friends, had spent many hours searching the trails of the Noon Hill Reservation, by foot and by Fire Department snowmobile, but did not find the man.
Meaney said "We notified MEMA (Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency) several hours ago, along with the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council but due to the weather conditions they could not assist us tonight. They will reassess the weather and their availability in the morning."
Meaney also said that people should not try to search on their own.
"I want to emphasize that we do not want volunteers going into the woods to search," he said.
Patch will continue to bring you updates as they become available.
