Kevin Connolly to Play at Zullo Gallery on Saturday
Kevin Connolly and Michael Dinallo will play at the Zullo Gallery on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
When Medfield resident Jerry Potts founded Eastern Front Records in the early 1990s, the defining moment was landing a record publishing deal with Rounder Records.
Years later, Potts met another Medfield resident, Porter Terry, who once worked at Rounder Records. Not only did the two have the Rounder connection, but they both had a deep appreciation for the rich and lyrically engaging music of singer/songwriter Kevin Connolly, who put out three albums on Eastern Front.
Now the Potts/Terry duo is teaming up to bring Kevin Connolly to Medfield on Saturday, March 2, as a benefit for the Zullo Gallery.
Joining Connolly will also be Michael Dinallo on electric guitar.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and a suggested donation of $8 is requested at the door. Beer and wine will be sold at the event.
Writing and performing for 20 years, Connolly has carved out his own way of writing American songs and has earned a reputation as a passionate performer guided by the likes of John Prine, Tom Waits and Bob Dylan.
He has toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe, and has played national festivals including Newport Folk Festival, SWSX ("South by Southwest", Austin, TX), Kerrville and Bumbershoot, a major Seattle event. Connolly has also opened for a long list of artists, including Indigo Girls, Huey Lewis, Todd Rundgren and Joan Osborne.
Michael Dinallo also has his own impressive resume as a performer and producer. He has studied with Ronnie Earl, and has played with such artists as Eddie Floyd, Barrence Whitfield & the Savages, and his acclaimed Boston band The Radio Kings.
