Nominations are now being accepted for the Natasha Domeshek Kindness Scholarship.

The $50,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (or more) members of the Class of 2012 who shows exemplary kindness.

“The sole criteria is kindness,” said David Domeshek, Natasha’s father. “It has nothing to do with athletic or artistic achievement, or financial need for that matter, it is purely about the character of the kid.”

Students cannot nominate themselves, and parents cannot nominate their own child.

“We’re encouraging everyone in the Medfield community who knows a member of the Medfield High senior class, whom they think is particularly kind, to nominate that person,” said Domeshek, noting the nomination process is a simple five-question online application.

“They also need to tell us in a few sentences, why they think a particular kid is particularly kind. … We’re counting on the people of Medfield to use their good judgment.

“We ask who they are, who they’re nominating, how they know the nominee, and how long they’ve known the nominee,” he explained.

The nominating committee also asks for the name of a third party who can vouch for the nominee.

An online link to the application can be found at www.AngelRun.org and is due by the end of February. The scholarship(s) will be awarded at MHS Senior Awards Night.

“We think it’s an exciting process and we’re sure it's going to lead to awards for one or more very deserving kids in this class,” said Domeshek.
