Five Things Including Book Nook and Worn Jeans

Here's a list of good things to know as you start your day in Medfield.

1. NEEDED TODAY: All worn plaid shirts and jeans being collected to create scarecrows for the Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. All shirts and jeans can be dropped off at the Johnsons' house (3 Hospital Road) this morning until noon.

2. Our weekly "Book Nook" literary review will be out at 10 a.m. today. Last week's book was "Review of Mortal Love" by Elizabeth Hand.  Did you read it? What did you think? Tell us in the comment section below.

3. Did you know you can upload your own events, announcements, and sports photos to Patch? Upload them directly to the site and share them right away.

4. Have you gotten your flu shot yet? Will you get the shot? Why or why not -- tell us in the comment section below.

5. Today's library hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. but the library will be closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the Columbus Day weekend.
